Common questions

Is CarLog free?

Creating an account, adding vehicles, the first service record for each vehicle, the Baraza and vehicle history checks are free. After that, a vehicle needs a subscription of KES 100 a year to keep adding records and get reminders. Spares shops list 20 products free, then pay KES 500 a year to list more.

Who can see my service records?

Only you, the people in your organization, and those who worked on the vehicle. If you choose to make a vehicle's history public, anybody can see its approved services, but never your name, phone number, costs or documents.

Can my garage add records for me?

Yes. Any garage or technician can log work on your vehicle. It waits for your approval before it joins the history, so the record stays trustworthy.

What happens to the history when I sell?

Transfer the vehicle to the buyer in CarLog with their phone number. Once they accept, the full history moves with the vehicle, which helps you sell faster and for a better price.

Does it work for boda bodas, tuk-tuks and trucks?

Yes. Choose the vehicle type when you add it, and CarLog uses service intervals that suit it, such as chain care and short oil-change intervals for boda bodas.

Does CarLog sell spare parts?

No. Shops list their parts and prices, you compare them, and you contact the shop directly to buy.

How are garage ratings checked?

Only an owner who approved a job from that garage or mechanic can rate it, so every rating comes from real work. Written comments are checked by our team before they appear.

What does Sponsored mean?

Shops, garages and mechanics can pay to be featured. Sponsored listings are always labelled and never change normal results, ratings or the price comparison.
